To fix the problem I tried all of the usual tricks of restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling the Zoom desktop client, and disabling every application that I thought might be creating a conflict.
I even made sure that the driver for my graphics card was updated. None of those things fixed the problem. Finally, late this afternoon there was an update from Zoom that fixed the problem. The lesson in this for all of us to make sure we have a second option getting things done.

But nothing is more embarrassing than leading a meeting and having some glitches pop up.
Nothing is more frustrating than having your webcam or audio not work on a Zoom call. If your web camera is not showing up or is selected and is not working on Zoom, then you might want to try some of these basic tips first. When you join a call, Zoom will prompt you with an option to Join with Video before entering the meeting. Always click this button, or else you will enter the call without your camera feed.
Once open, you can join the call as usual on the Zoom app, and follow the instructions on the screen. Sometimes, though, the problem might not be Zoom at all. You can correct this by checking your app permissions to make sure the Zoom app or your web browser can use your webcam.
On the web specifically, you also can check this setting by restarting your call and making sure you pressed Allow when prompted about the camera and microphone access. On Windows, you can check to see if your webcam is blocked by searching for Webcam in the Start Menu and selecting C hoose which apps can use camera from the menu.
Make sure the box for your web browser or Zoom is ticked. Another common problem with Zoom is audio echo during a meeting. If you hear audio echo or feedback during your meeting, there are three possible reasons why. First, someone could have both computer and telephone audio active at the same time.
Another cause could be that people with computer or telephone speakers might be too close to each other. Lastly, multiple computers with active audio could be in the same conference room. Or ask one of them to leave the audio conference or mute audio on their device. Sharing your screen is an important part of a Zoom call and is as easy as clicking Share Screen at the bottom of the window.
Sharing your screen takes up a lot of bandwidth.Chat with a Tech Pro or call us at If the microphone that's built-in or attached to your computer isn't picking up your voice, it may not be connected or configured properly.
If you're using wireless devices, such as Bluetooth, make sure they're battery is charged, turned on and connected to the computer. The following will help you check the volume level of your microphone sometimes referred to on your computer as the recording or input device to be sure it is at a high enough level so that others can hear you. Muting while you have no intention of speaking is typical and proper video conferencing etiquette.
To resolve this symptom, check the following:. While many sets of speakers and some headsets have their own volume knobs or wheels, many users tend to forget that your computer also has its own volume adjustments, including the ability to mute sound output entirely. This is important to check.
As was previously mentioned for microphones, your computer also has numerous 'Output' devices that it can send its audio to. Making sure your computer is sending audio to the correct device can make the difference between hearing nothing and hearing everything you expect to be hearing. If none of the suggestions have restored audio to your speakers or headphones, reboot your computer and try again. This may seem like a useless step, but sometimes the audio services on a computer can fail.
Rebooting can restart those services and potentially resolve the issue you're experiencing. If you're still experiencing problems after a reboot, the speakers or headphones you're using may be malfunctioning. Try a different device, or reach out to the manufacturer for further assistance.
If a meeting participant initially connected to the meeting using their computer, but had to dial-in using their telephone or vice-versa - make sure the device no longer being used is disconnected. If any participants are using external speakers to listen to their meeting, their microphone may be picking up what's being played back, causing other attendees to hear an echo. If a microphone is too close to external speakers, this can cause loud audio feedback.
Zoom Error Code 5003: See How You Can Fix It Easily
Always recommend that users attend meetings using headphones or a headset with a built-in microphone to minimize the chances of this being an issue. Similar to the suggestion above, always suggest that participants use their own headphones or headsets to avoid situations where one person's microphone picks up another. For most of us, attending a Zoom meeting is a very time-sensitive task. This will allow you to get connected immediately without missing a beat - affording you time to correct your computer's Zoom issues before your next meeting.
Now that your computer has been disconnected from the meeting, you can dial into the meeting instead. These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.

This could happen if you are using a computer or mobile device at a university or other organizations that have access restrictions on their network.
To fix this issue, you need to contact the network administrator so they can check the firewall and proxy settings. If you have to configure the network firewall, Zoom has a table of protocols and destinations that you can view on their webpage. They also recommend that you whitelist the zoom. Everybody is working from home and that brought Zoom its highest number of users in its history since it was first launched as a video conferencing service.
Many have come to challenge Zoom including video calling platforms from Microsoft with Microsoft Teams and Google bringing in Google Meet. But, still, Zoom seems to be undefeated. However, users recently complain about being bombarded by various kinds of errors when they use Zoom. One of these is the error code This particular Zoom error happens when a regular meeting participant receives an invitation link to be a co-host. When that user clicks on the link, the error is being displayed.
This simply means that the person who clicked on the link is not a primary host. As we all know, the way a Zoom conference call works is that a primary host needs to set up and initiate the call. And then, the primary host can assign some of the meeting participants to be co-hosts. Every time a host adds a new co-host, Zoom creates a new link for the conference that is specific to that new co-host.
Being the co-host of the meeting, they must share the new link created for them with the rest of the participants.
But, that link is supposed to be used only by the new co-host and not by other meeting participants. Technically, it is right because the co-host is not really the primary meeting host. The solution to Zoom error is pretty simple and straightforward. You just have to change the link format a bit and then you can try joining the meeting again.
All you have to do is copy that link and paste it somewhere where you can edit it and then follow these steps:. Another way to set this up without going through that error is to create a co-host who will be designated to start the Zoom video meeting. By doing this, you have given the co-host administrative controls over the meeting.
