However, after learning of "Old Town Road" he called his label's vice president telling him they needed to release the song. The song reached number one on the Hot Country Songs chart on its fifth week on the chart. The remix has an altered beat, with "more booming, extra percussion and hand claps".
Brown and Ciara perform the bridge together. Ciara references her song, " 1, 2 Step ", singing: "Let me see you two step, then one, two step". From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

I was born and raised here, and I stayed here. This is not Davis' first experience as a viral video sensation. Just this spring, a video was posted of him arriving at Starr Elementary School with lights flashing and siren blaring, and it shows students racing to line a fence for high-fives from the officer.
Davis stands out among RPD's effort to develop relationships with community members. He teaches in the schools. He participates in events. He visits children. He leads RPD's camp. And he stars in videos. But Davis didn't plan on a "The Git Up" video.
Finally, he was pressured into putting in the work to learn the dance, he said. Then, he got the idea to involve more people and shoot snippets at locations throughout the city. The video begins with Davis riding a motorcycle into a driveway, then spinning around to emerge in uniform with a cowboy hat. From there, though, he involves RPD coworkers at the police station, participants in the department's Youth Police Academy at Veterans Memorial Park, Richmond Fire Department personnel at a fire station and the children gathered for a back-to-school event at 10th Street Park.
With that in mind, Davis most appreciates the reactions and comments from people saying they enjoy the different locations Davis filmed the video.
And while Davis certainly has fun doing "something that comes easily to me," he said, that's just a part of his policing and of the policing done by the department.Listen, I have a confession to make: I can't stop watching TikToks.
Shamefully, I have been spending around an hour a day, sitting on my couch, eating Oreos, and scrolling endlessly through my "For You" page. Most of my feed is filled with lip sync videos made unironically by unsuspecting users only to be made popular by meme pages capitalizing on the elusive "cringe" factor.
I get lost in loops of these types of videos, finding new audio clip after new audio clip, most of which don't get used in videos more than a few times.
There is one audio clip, however, that is absolutely taking over my feed: Blanco Brown's "The Git Up. The song, a country banger with just the right amount of attitude and twangy pluck, is getting so much love on TikTok right now that it's practically the only audio clip I come across on my feed.
Blanco Brown's only other release on Apple Music is a self-titled EPwhich lovers of his new smash hit will for sure want to check out after wearing out their new TikTok yeehaw anthem. Everyone is trying to put their own spin on the song, but many are sticking to a core dance routine with an unclear origin story. The dance, which begins with a stiff armed shuffle, continues into the song's namesake: a "two-step" and a "cowboy boogie.
There's only one other video that's been posted to his account since the suspension, and it's another dancing video. The Instagram linked to his TikTok says that he's 16 years old and from the UK, and lots of his videos involve dances, but none have come close to reaching the viral level of success that his "The Git Up" dance has reached. The dance is so popular, in fact, that as I was discussing this article with a few coworkers, Anne Cooperstone — an editorial producer here at PAPER — told me she's been practicing her moves for days, and promptly demonstrated just how good she's gotten at doing "The Git Up.

Instead of offering extensive raw bindings to libgit2GitUpKit only uses a minimal subset of libgit2 and reimplements everything else on top of it it has its own "rebase engine" for instance.
This allows it to expose a very tight and consistent API, that completely follows Obj-C conventions and hides away the libgit2 complexity and sometimes inconsistencies. Be aware that this overhead can significantly affect performance.
Regarding the "Core" APIs, the best way to learn them is to peruse the associated unit tests - for instance see the branch tests for the branch API. Latest commit. And it has been extremely popular on TikTok, the social-video sharing app. In the casual video, the two dance side by side in a parking lot, Wilson taking her cues from Brown, sashaying and spinning and doing the butterfly just a split second behind him. There is, however, one twist to this feel-good story.
And its performer is black, still a relative rarity in the country music industry. It is historically cloistered, presenting significant roadblocks to outsiders — the charts reflect those pressures.
Just ask the women of country music. He deploys a country twang earned growing up spending summers in the rural South. He plays lap steel guitar. The most crucial reason might be structural. It rose up from the SoundCloud murk with an arched eyebrow, fortified by the language of memes.
On TikTok, where young people transformed into cowboys to its theatrically comic country boom-bap, it was a shared idiom. It leapfrogged right over the country music industry to the pop world, leaving Nashville in the cold, and resentful.
You see it in the videos. The one in which Brown coaches Wilson is one of a few circulating online where he gamely demonstrates the dance for white people. In another, he suffers the rhythmlessness of the longtime radio and TV personality Storme Warrenwho currently hosts a morning show on Sirius XM. In the clip featuring the renegade syndicated morning radio host Bobby Bones and the singer Caylee HammackBrown appears mysteriously in the background about halfway through, like a curious judge, before joining in.
These videos are testaments to cross-cultural understanding, and they are premised upon a fundamental lack of it. Or in other words, the same country-rap framework that Lil Nas X was working with albeit flecked with irony in his caseand which has been deployed in Nashville by country rappers like Colt Ford and crossover stars like Sam Hunt. For the most part, that sound has been held at bay by country tastemakers.
Whether the track is being included on the basis of its genre bona fides is dubious at best — it is the very definition of a novelty song. The lap steel — played by Brown — is just a touch fuzzy, as if plucked off some old 78 r.
It is warm, welcoming shtick. As a singer, he has an interesting, rich voice, as heard in a video of him singing a Chris Stapleton song backstage at the Grand Ole Opry a few days ago. Its acceptance is a victory for excluding those who push hard against old tropes as much as for those who seek a toothless path to inclusion.
