It might be helpful if the documentation said which were needed. Well, I'll reopen this issue for thought because the error message was unhelpful.

Upload/Backup your files to Amazon S3 with Powershell

Not sure how possible that would be to implement because the actual command we're invoking is is PutObject so that comes directly from the python SDK. We don't have a way of knowing that the command failed because of a missing PutObjectAcl in the policy.

We could check if you specified the --acl argument, but the error message we get back is a catch all access denied error that could be caused by a number of issues.

What could be the reason? There is no mention of ACL or policy problems to guide developers to the right place s to check.

You can find more information about hosting an S3 website here or by running the following:. Let's go ahead and add a new S3 object to our bucket. To do this, we are going to use another cmdlet: Write-S3Object. The Write-S3Object cmdlet has many optional parameters and allows you to copy an entire folder and its files from your local machine to a S3 bucket.

You can also create content on your computer and remotely create a new S3 object in your bucket. You will hardly miss a single feature when it comes to S3 buckets and S3 objects. PowerShell is usually associated with Microsoft Azure. Join the 4sysops PowerShell group!
